Target-In's platform technology combines a fully-human targeting component with a fully-human apoptotic component that induces orderly cell death in targeted cells.

Immunotoxins, one of the key therapeutic agents in killing targeted cells, has been extensively tested, but only one has received FDA approval. When administered to humans, immunotoxins and other armed protein therapeutics often cause severe adverse effects due to toxicity and immunogenicity. The apofusions address each of the major disadvantages of immunotoxins by creating armed targeted therapeutics that bind to cells only through the targeting component, kill targeted cells without bystander effects, and more importantly, are fully human. Further, Target-In's comprehensive preclinical trials have shown that in animals, apofusions efficiently kill targeted cells without toxicity.
